Please note: East plays Midwest and West plays South in the Final Four matchups. Teams may have been moved one seed line up or down from their natural seeding to accommodate bracketing rules.
The most controversial inclusion likely is Miami (Fla.) with its 4-7 ACC mark, but when compared to the résumés of others at the cutline, the Canes stack up and they have shown concretely that they can play with the elite. They are one of the teams that got bumped a seed line. Cincinnati made the field when USC lost at Arizona State on Sunday night. San Diego State was another borderline case this week, as BYU and UNLV both looked deserving but both still trail the Aztecs in the MWC standings.
