Edwin Jackson signed a $13.35-million, two-year deal with the Diamondbacks, avoiding arbitration, SI.com has learned.

Jackson, 26, had submitted a bid of $6.25 million and the Diamondbacks $4.6 million, putting the midpoint at $5.4125 million. But the sides solved the difference by lengthening the deal. The right-handed Jackson was 13-9 with a 3.62 ERA last year with Detroit and came to Arizona in the three-team trade in which the D-Backs sent Max Scherzer to the Tigers.
