The first official NBA Slam Dunk Contest winner was Larry Nance, who claimed the top prize at the 1984 All-Star Game. But the real start of the competition dates back to 1976 when, who else but, Julius Erving put on quite a show at the American Basketball Association's All-Star showdown. Since then, the dunk contest has provided some of the greatest highlight-reel specials in NBA history. Here are our 10 favorite slams over the years.
