AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- New Auburn basketball coach Tony Barbee has landed his second top recruit from Huntsville.

Luke Cothron signed with the Tigers on Thursday. The 6-foot-9, 218-pounder is rated the No. 45 overall prospect and 11th-best power forward by Rivals.com.

Cothron spent last season at Flora Macdonald Academy in North Carolina, averaging 31 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks per game.

Barbee says Cothron gives Auburn "a different level of talent" and will be an instant contributor around the basket. Cothron was also recruited by schools like Kentucky, Connecticut and Tennessee.

He joins Huntsville signee Josh Langford.
