Nebraska's Yori wins Naismith coaching award
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Nebraska women's basketball coach Connie Yori has been named the 2010 Naismith Women's College Coach of the Year by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.
It's the fifth major coaching honor this season for Yori.
She was chosen by the Atlanta Tipoff Club's National Voting Academy, which includes basketball journalists, coaches and administrators from around the country.
On Tuesday Yori won the first Kay Yow Award, which honors the late North Carolina State head coach.
Yori has already been named coach of the year by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, The Associated Press and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
Yori led the Cornhuskers to their first No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament and a trip to the regional semifinals before losing to Kentucky.
