The younger Griffin is a 5-foot-9, 185-pound running back, defensive back and return specialist from Columbus' DeSales High School, which he helped to the 2009 state championship game. He'll be a freshman at Ohio State this fall. His dad lettered from 1972-75 at Ohio State, winning the Heisman his final two seasons. A diminutive tailback who played on superlative Buckeyes teams under Woody Hayes, Archie Griffin still holds school records for rushing yards (5,589) and attempts (924) in a career. He had 34 100-yard rushing games at Ohio State. Coach Jim Tressel said Adam Griffin had a "passion" to be a Buckeye. Copyright 2010 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
