Brandon Coleman, a 6-foot-6 receiver from Bishop McNamara in Forrestville, MD, will commit to Rutgers this afternoon, according to a source close to the wideout. Coleman, who participated in the Under Armour All-American game last month, was one of the top remaining uncommitted wide receivers in the nation. Rivals.com gave him four stars.

Coleman also held offers from Boston College, Maryland, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. The source indicated that Coleman's relationship with Rutgers coach Greg Schiano was the deciding factor in the decision, despite the fact that the Scarlet Knights lost their wide receiver coach this offseason and Joe Susan, who is in charge of recruiting.

In addition, the source says that Coleman had developed a strong relationship with current quarterback Tom Savage, who started last season as a true freshman. Coleman, who played in the prestigious Crab Bowl featuring the top talent from the area, is expected to compete for playing time immediately. He is the highest ranked recruit to commit to Rutgers this season.

Coleman will hold a press conference at his high school on Tuesday afternoon and will sign his Letter of Intent Wednesday morning.
