Pop Idol creator quits as Brand Beckham director
LONDON (AP) --The man who created the Pop Idol franchise show has resigned as a director of the company that handles David Beckham's earnings from the Los Angeles Galaxy and his joint endorsements with wife Victoria.
Simon Fuller's resignation from Brand Beckham Limited was confirmed to the official British company registry Tuesday.
The couple hired the former Spice Girls manager in 2003 to make their name a global brand after Victoria's efforts to become a solo singer stalled.
The couple have since released a range of "dVb'' branded goods including perfumes and jeans and both have consolidated their fame in the United States.
