Werder Bremen signs striker Wagner from Duisburg

BREMEN, Germany (AP) -Slumping Werder Bremen has signed Germany under-21 striker Sandro Wagner from second-division club Duisburg.

Werder said Sunday that Wagner is contracted until 2014. In return, Werder sent defender Dusko Tosic and forward Kevin Schindler to Duisburg on loan until the end of the season. Schindler already had been on loan to second-division club Augsburg.

Werder has lost five straight in the Bundesliga to drop to sixth place.
