MILWAUKEE (AP) - Brewers manager Ron Roenicke says he's starting Jerry Hairston Jr. at third base instead of Casey McGehee for Milwaukee's playoff opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday.

McGehee has been the starter most of the season, but is hitting 3 for 45 over his last 14 games and batting .223 with 13 homers and 67 RBIs this season.

Hairston was acquired at the July trading deadline from the Nationals. He's hitting .274 with a homer and seven RBIs in 45 games since joining the Brewers.

Hairston is 0 for 5 against Diamondbacks starter Ian Kennedy, while McGehee is 0 for 7 with two walks.
