There were some intriguing selections (Jake Locker at No. 8 to the Titans?), a blockbuster trade (welcome to Atlanta, Julio Jones) and a missed pick (thanks to a Bears-Ravens snafu). But what might end up being the most noteworthy development from the first-round of the NFL Draft was the Lions taking defensive tackle Nick Fairley with the 13th overall pick. The 6-foot-4, 291-pound Auburn prospect will play alongside 6-foot-4, 307-pound Ndamukong Suh. That should be fun to watch.

Listen to Roger Goodell get booed at the start of the draft. ... Mark Ingram's imprisoned father sent an e-mail to Suzy Kolber to read to his son after he was drafted for the night's most emotional moment. (If anyone knows why Ingram's dad e-mailed Kolber and not his son, though, please e-mail me and let me know. I'm hoping that wasn't a staged TV moment.) ... Speaking of Ingram, after the running back was drafted 28th overall by the Saints, Reggie Bush sent out this Tweet.

The NFL Network aired Tweets from fans during the draft. That led to this embarrassing moment. ... Kristin Cavallari, newly engaged to Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, approved of Chicago's first-round pick. ... The Vikings taking Christian Ponder at No. 12 overall was one of the most controversial picks of the first-round. They'll be no controversy about Ponder automatically having one of the top WAGs in sports, though.
