Lovely Lady Of The Day
Amber Heard :: AP
DJ from Columbus, Ohio, says, "Jimmy...man...dude...I have tried this multiple times and I will keep trying until you take on of my suggestions. For LLOD I nominate Amanda Heard. She stars in the new show The Playboy Club in which she looks amazing in her little Bunny outfit, plus she comes with her own sporting reference; she bats for the other team, her girlfriend is Tasya van Rees." That has to be the biggest stretch I've ever heard, but I like DJ's creativity, so Amber Heard gets today's LLOD honors.
I Don't Think This Will Bring Him Out Of Hiding
The Dayton Gems of the Central Hockey League are holding "Salute to Steve Bartman Night" on Oct. 14 (the date in 2003 when Bartman became famous). The team has offered Bartman a free ticket to the game and any fans dressed as Bartman (Cubs hat, green turtleneck and wearing headphones) will receive one free admission to the game. (Thanks to Nick, of Kansas City, for the link.)
Graphical Gaffes
Every Friday, Awful Announcing rounds up the various graphic errors seen on sports television during the week for a blog post. Here is the latest installment.
Sports Video Of The Day
Anyone know what's going on with this goal celebration from last Thursday by the Philadelphia Union's Sebastien Le Toux? (Thanks to Alex, of Indianapolis, for the video.)

UPDATE, 5:30 pm: Several of you have pointed out that Le Toux is imitating a guy in an AT&T flash mob commercial. Thanks for the info.

Exercise Equipment Video Of The Day
The commercial for the Shake Weight is G-rated compared to this near-pornographic ad for Free Flexor. (Thanks to John W., of Firestone, Col., for the video)
