As Hot Clicks told you on Monday, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski spent some of his bye week hanging out with adult film star Bibi Jones. We know this because Jones Tweeted the photo above. Obviously, this became a big deal on the Web because that's what happens whenever the word "porn" is involved. Plus, Gronkowsi is an excellent player on one of the more buzzworthy teams in sports. If this happened with Jones and Cardinals tight end, Jeff King, nobody would've cared. Anyway, Jones did a couple of interviews in which she said nothing happened with Gronkowski and they just Tweeted the photos as a way for him to get more followers. (I believe this as much as I believe the Dolphins will win the Super Bowl this year. Jones was on The Howard Stern Show two weeks ago and if you heard the interview, you know her claim is extremely hard to believe. I can't link to the Jones interview because it's beyond graphic, but search Marksfriggin.com -- the best Stern recap website around -- on Google and you can read it there.) Which brings us to today. Gronkowski apologized this morning to team owner Robert Kraft and later said, "I didn't intend anything to hurt the reputation of anyone on the New England Patriots or on behalf of Robert Kraft. That's all, just a simple picture, that's all." So this is what it comes to in the Internet age: If you're a single guy who plays pro sports for a living, you now have to apologize for taking the picture above. Oversensitive much?<

UPDATE: After writing this whole diatribe, Boston Herald Patriots beat writer Ian Rapoport reached out to me to let me know that Gronkowski never issued an apology or admitted apologizing to the Krafts, despite what ESPN is trying to tell you. Two things about it. 1) You can just tell my the grin on Gronkowski's face the entire time that he's loving this. 2) While I've defended Gronkowski, it's a little disingenuous to use an adult film star to gain Twitter followers, let said adult film star wear your jersey and let said adult fim star tweet the photo of you guys together -- and then play the whole "I'm only talking about the Steelers routine."
