BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- Western Kentucky coach Willie Taggart has suspended running back Antonio Andrews a game for disparaging comments made Saturday about Hilltopper fans on Twitter.

Andrews questioned WKU fans' loyalty compared to their University of Kentucky counterparts and, two days after a 36-33 double overtime win over Middle Tennessee State, criticized those who "said we suck and will never win a game."

Taggart said Monday "our policy is that you don't do anything that's going to bring a negative perspective on our football team." The coach says he doesn't "mind our guys using (Twitter), but use it in a positive way."

Andrews later deleted the tweets and sent an apology to his nearly 500 followers.

Western Kentucky (1-4, 1-1 Sun Belt) plays at Florida Atlantic on Saturday.
