Indiana announces top receiver booted off team |

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) -- Damarlo Belcher's football career at Indiana is over.
The senior receiver was kicked off the team Monday, two days after being suspended.
In a one-sentence statement issued Monday night, coach Kevin Wilson says Belcher was dismissed from the team for violating team rules.
It was the same reason Wilson gave for the suspension. He has not elaborated on the violation.
It's been a strange year for Belcher, who leads the team with 25 receptions, 286 yards and one TD despite missing two games with knee injuries and a third because of the suspension. He looked to be a sure bet to break the school's career receiving records, but finished sixth in yards (2,225) and second in receptions (189), two behind James Hardy.
