Jerry Sandusky hearing: Live updates
BELLEFONTE, Penn. -- A self-proclaimed "Victorian secret" in the heart of central Pennsylvania, Bellefonte will become an unusually prominent location on Tuesday. The disgraced former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky goes before a criminal court for the preliminary hearing in the child sex abuse case.
Up to a dozen key figures in the case could speak before the judge, including the accusers referenced in the first grand jury report; Mike McQueary, an assistant with the team who told the grand jury he saw Sandusky sodomize a boy in a team shower in 2002; and Sandusky himself. Prosecutors will lay out their case before a judge to determine if there's sufficient evidence to go to trial.
Sandusky's lawyer, Joe Amendola, said no plea negotiations have been held. "We plan to proceed with Jerry's hearing, and Jerry is looking forward to the opportunity to face his accusers," Amendola told The Associated Press on Monday.
The hearing is underway and SI.com will have live updates from the courtroom.
