Giants DC Fewell: Some players quit vs. Saints
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- A miffed Perry Fewell accused some members of the New York Giants defense of quitting in the blowout loss to the New Orleans Saints and he vowed that will not happen again.
The Giants defensive coordinator says he was angry and disappointed the way his unit played in the 49-24 thrashing and he seemed certain that the defense would show up Sunday for what is now a crucial game against the undefeated Green Bay Packers.
Speaking after practice Thursday, Fewell virtually guaranteed that his unit would put pressure on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers by getting after what he politely said was his rear end.
If there was anything that upset Fewell, it was seeing players pull up short - give up - on certain plays.
