Jets LB Pace fined $15K by NFL for hit on Vick
Calvin Pace was fined $15k for an illegal hit on Michael Vick
The hit came as Vick threw a 26-yard touchdown to Brent Celek in Week 15
Pace plans to appeal the fine, said he didn't read the letter from the league
Pace slammed into Vick as he threw a 26-yard touchdown to Brent Celek in the Eagles' 45-19 victory, and was called for a 15-yard roughing-the-passer penalty. Pace told reporters Thursday he planned to appeal the fine. He told ESPNNewYork.com that he didn't read the letter sent to him from the league. "I saw $15,000 and threw it in the trash," Pace told the website.
Jets coach Rex Ryan wouldn't comment on the fine, saying only that he's "not the expert there."
Pace, in his fourth season with the Jets, is third on the team with 81 tackles and has 4 1/2 sacks.
