WASHINGTON (AP) - Mike Green had a goal and an assist, and Michal Neuvirth stopped 28 shots as the Washington Capitals beat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1 on Sunday night in the preseason finale for both teams.

Corey Crawford had 32 saves for the Blackhawks (2-4-1).

Washington's Mathieu Perreault made it 1-0 at 11:18 of the first period. Brooks Laich made it 2-0 five minutes later.

Marian Hossa cut the Blackhawks' deficit in half less than a minute later when he knocked in his own rebound during a power play.

Chicago's Peter LeBlanc received a match penalty for a hit to the head of Capitals forward Alexander Semin at 12:37 of the third period. A slashing penalty on Hossa gave the Caps a 5-on-3 advantage, and Green beat Crawford with just over 3 minutes to play.

Jay Beagle added a short-handed, empty-net goal.

Red Wings 3, Penguins 2

DETROIT (AP) - Gustav Nyquist had two goals and an assist, and Detroit topped Pittsburgh to wrap up the preseason.

Johan Franzen added a goal and two assists, Todd Bertuzzi also had two assists, and Jimmy Howard made 25 saves for Detroit (4-3-1).

Paul Martin and Tyler Kennedy scored and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 15 shots for the Penguins (5-1).

Detroit forward Patrick Eaves sustained an undisclosed lower body injury and didn't return after he appeared to block Steve Sullivan's shot with his right knee in the first period.

Rangers 4, Slovan Bratislava 1

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia (AP) - Mats Zuccarello started a string of four unanswered goals and the New York Rangers rallied to beat Slovan Bratislava for their third straight preseason win in Europe.

Slovan took a 1-0 lead on Ivan Svarny's slap shot during a first-period power play, but Zuccarello tied it during a 5-on-3 advantage in the second. Brian Boyle and Artem Anisimov scored later in the period to put the New York in control.

Ryan McDonagh finished the scoring midway through the third.

The Rangers also have beaten Czech Republic's Sparta Prague and Sweden's Frolunda during their European tour.

They will play EV Zug in Switzerland on Monday before returning to Sweden to start the regular season against the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks in Stockholm.
