Akkadian wins Hollywood Park feature

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) - Akkadian defeated Great Warrior by a neck to win Thursday's $53,200 feature at Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Joel Rosario, who had three winners on the card, Akkadian ran one mile on the turf in 1:35.33 and paid $3.80, $2.40 and $2.20 as the 9-10 favorite.

Great Warrior returned $3.40 and $2.40, while Cloud Man was another 1 3/4 lengths back in third and paid $3 to show.

The victory was Akkadian's second in four starts and increased his earnings to $77,760.

Joyful Success won the sixth race, giving Tyler Baze his first victory in his return from a nearly nine-month layoff. The 28-year-old jockey was seriously injured in a pre-race accident in July at Del Mar.
