As Joe Posnanski wrote and our photo gallery showed, 1986 was an unforgettable sports year. From Jack Nicklaus to Michael Jordan to Wayne Gretzky to Martina Navratilova, some of the greatest athletes in sports history delivered, even by their lofty standards, remarkable performances 25 years ago. The year also included some classic games and playoff series and, sadly, the tragic death of former Maryland star and Celtics draft pick Len Bias.
