There may be a spark near the smoke that is Donovan-McNabb-to-the-Vikings. The Vikings are indeed one of the teams interested in McNabb, according to two people with knowledge of the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity. But obviously, no deal could be made until there is a new collective bargaining agreement. ... If McNabb is still on Washington???s roster the day after the first regular season game, the Redskins would have to decide whether to pick up the $10 million option on his contract. His base salary for 2011 would be $1.75 million, but if he is on the 53-man squad the entire season, McNabb could receive a total of $12.75 million. Johnson, who towers on the mound at 6-7, is not ready to abandon baseball, not when he's in the second year of a four-year contract, has flirted with no-hitters in two of his three starts this season and is coming off a season in which he led the National League with a 2.30 ERA. But, when asked how often he has thought about joining the PGA Tour one day -- after his baseball career is over -- he replied, "All the time." ... [Colangelo] referred to Andrea Bargnani, the club's starting centre, as "the enigma of enigmas, to you and many." ... Colangelo's Monday message, coming as it did with his contract set to expire and his franchise in a midst of a painful rebuilding process, went something like this: From this day forward, Bargnani, the jump-shooting 7-footer who was once the franchise's coddled sacred cow, is going to be held to account along with the rest of the replaceable schleps.
