Ramon Diaz named new coach of Independiente
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) -- Argentine club Independiente has named Ramon Diaz as its new coach, replacing Antonio Mohamed who resigned last week.
The club said Monday that Diaz had signed a one-year contract and would lead his first practice on Tuesday.
Diaz has also coached Argentine clubs River Plate and San Lorenzo, and America in Mexico City.
Independiente has only seven points in six matches and is lodged in 14th place in the Apertura championship.
