Iniesta gives Barcelona Copa del Rey win
BARCELONA, Spain (AP) -- Andres Iniesta scored on dipping long-range shot that beat goalkeeper Jose Moragon in the 42nd minute to give Barcelona a 1-0 victory at third-tier Hospitalet on Wednesday night in the first leg of the fourth round of the Spanish Copa del Rey.
Despite a lower-tier opponent, Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola sent out a starting lineup that included Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez, Cesc Fabregas, David Villa and Carles Puyol. Barcelona extended its unbeaten streak this season to 19 games (13-0-6).
At a stadium with artificial turg, a crowd of 6,294 watched a match moved forward to accommodate the European champion's Club World Cup appearance in December.
The second leg of the total-goals series is Dec. 21. The other fourth-round series start Dec. 13, with Real Madrid at third-division Ponferradina.
