Francis Obikwelu wins 60 meters at Euro indoors |
PARIS (AP) - Francis Obikwelu of Portugal narrowly beat defending champion Dwain Chambers to win the 60 meters at the European indoor championships on Sunday.
Obikwelu withstood a late surge from Chambers to win in 6.53 seconds. Chambers, the current world champion, finished in 6.54.
European 100-meter champion Christophe Lemaitre of France was third in 6.58 after a poor start.
