Kevin Durant is in talks with German team BBC Bayreuth, but deal is not close
His agent says there have been discussions but 'we're not in the final stages'
Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel and Valencia in Spain are also reported possibilities
Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant is in talks with German team BBC Bayreuth, but a deal is not as close as has been reported, his agent Aaron Goodwin told SI.com.
"We're just discussing it," Goodwin said. "We're in discussions and it's definitely a consideration, but we're not in the final stages."
An overseas report from spox.com quoted Bayreuth general manager Uli Eichbaum saying, "We're in the final stages of a deal and I'm an optimist. It's not looking bad."
The excitement is clearly building about the mere possibility that Durant could join the team, but he is known to be considering other options as well.
As reported by Yahoo! Sports, there have also been discussions with Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel and Valencia in Spain. Wherever the eventual destination, Durant -- who has spent the summer playing in charity games all over the country and serving as the unofficial poster boy for Nike's "Basketball Never Stops" campaign during the NBA lockout -- is looking more likely to head overseas sometime soon.
