ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - The Texas Rangers say reliever Mike Adams will have surgery for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, a numbing sensation that sidelined him the last week of the season.

Adams, who can become a free agent, is set for surgery Thursday in Dallas.

The team said All-Star starter Matt Harrison had successful Lasik surgery Thursday. Catcher Mike Napoli, another pending free agent, is set to have the eye procedure next week.

Harrison had a rib removed during surgery in 2009 after being diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, when a bone in the upper body presses against a nerve, causing numbness and tingling in the fingers.

Adams gave up three home runs in the span of five batters in his last appearance. He gave up only one homer his previous 60 games.
