Texas guard Gibbs to transfer |

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Texas freshman guard Sterling Gibbs says he is transferring after a freshman season of battling to get playing time.
Gibbs says he's leaving because of family reasons but did not elaborate in a statement released Tuesday by the school. The statement doesn't say where Gibson will transfer, but says he will finish the spring semester at Texas.
Gibbs played in 30 games for the Longhorns last season, averaging nearly 8 minutes and 2.6 points.
