BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) Indiana athletic director Fred Glass told a soldout crowd Friday night that the school had agreed with coach Tom Crean on a two-year contract extension, keeping him with the Hoosiers through the 2019-20 season.

His base salary will increase from approximately $2.52 million per year to $3.16 million. The deal also includes performance bonuses based on Academic Progress Rate scores, Graduation Success Rate scores and the team GPA. If all standards are met, Crean's salary could increase by as much as $55,000 per year. It also includes a more expensive buyout option.

Additional contract details will be announce when the deal is formally signed.

Glass made the announcement just before tip-off of the Hoosiers season-opener against Bryant, after telling the crowd Indiana basketball is back.

The soldout crowd roared both times.

Indiana is ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll for the first time in 33 years.

The Hoosiers won a total of 28 games in Crean's first three seasons, but rebounded last season by going 27-9.
