NJIT routs Division III Lyndon State 98-42

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Ryan Woods and Ky Howard scored 16 points apiece to lead New Jersey Institute of Technology to a 98-42 rout of Division III Lyndon State on Tuesday.

Mitch Farrell had 13 points, Nigel Sydnor added 12, and Daquan Holiday finished with 11 for the Highlanders, who have won three straight games and improved to 4-0 at home this season.

Holiday added 10 rebounds as NJIT won the rebounding battle 53-20. The Highlanders have outrebounded their opponent in each of the last five games.

NJIT (4-2) led 44-21 at the break and stretched its lead to 50 in the second half behind a 72.7 percent (24 of 33) shooting performance during the period.

The Highlanders held Lyndon State to 7-of-27 shooting in the second half.

NJIT forced 20 turnovers, on the strength of 12 steals, and scored 30 points off those errors.

Jason Gray led Lyndon State (0-1) with 12.
