MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - South Dakota State guard Nate Wolters missed Tuesday's game at No. 14 Minnesota because of a sprained right ankle suffered in practice the day before.

The senior was on the court for warmups on Tuesday night, but freshman Jake Bittle started in his place. Minnesota won 88-64.

"I'll be fine. It's nothing crazy serious,'' Wolters said after the game.

The 6-foot-3 Wolters, who led the Jackrabbits to their first NCAA tournament appearance last season, missed out on his last opportunity to play in his home state. He went to St. Cloud Tech High School, about a 90-minute drive from the Minnesota campus.

In 2011-12, Wolters became just the fifth player in NCAA history to average at least 20 points, five rebounds and five assists per game in a season.
