Jerry Jones has no interest in stepping down as The Man in Dallas. So a Georgia man decided to see if the President of the United States could do something about it. In the petitions section of the White House website, one was created for President Barack Obama to have Jones removed from his control of the Cowboys. It reads: "We, the Citizens of the Great State of Texas, and Dallas Cowboys fans worldwide, have been oppressed by an over controlling, delusional, oppressive dictator for way too long. Request the Executive Branch's immediate assistance in removal of owner and GM, Jerry Jones. His incompetence and ego have not only been an extreme disappointment for way too long, but moreover, it has caused extreme mental and emotional duress." (The Dallas Morning News) Comment

The Big Four makes for a crowd in Los Angeles. [Kobe Bryant] isn't going anywhere, Dwight Howard isn't going anywhere (they hope), and Steve Nash, once he's healthy, isn't going anywhere because he's the one to run Mike D'Antoni's offense. That makes Pau Gasol the presumed odd man out, given his weighty contract and declining stats. He makes $19 million this season and, the big blow, $19.3 million next season, when luxury taxes increase dramatically. ... The Lakers aren't actively looking to trade Gasol right now, The Times has learned, because they want to see what happens when Nash returns from a small fracture in his leg. Options, yes, Shane Victorino will have options. At least seven teams -- the Reds, Indians, Yankees, Rangers, Giants, Rays and Red Sox -- are believed to be interested in [Victorino], one of four excellent center fielders in a strong but still developing market. Several teams are believed willing to go at least three years for Victorino, who publicly said months ago he was thinking about five years. An uncharacteristically unproductive second half probably prevents a five-year deal, but he's going to do OK, considering the number of teams interested. Victorino, who will turn 32 on Friday, is a two-time All-Star and two-time Gold Glover whose only issue really is that 2012 was by far his worst season. (CBS Sports) Comment
