Pettitte coming back for at least $10M

Andy Pettitte isn't ready for another retirement just yet. According to a source, Pettitte has decided to pitch in 2013, ending his six-week deliberation about his future. "He has committed to playing next year," the source said. Now it's up to Brian Cashman and Pettitte's agent, Jim Murray, to hammer out a deal for the lefthander. Sources said the Yankees are expected to give Pettitte $10-11 million next season, a substantial raise from the $2.5 million he earned in 2012 after coming out of retirement. Although Pettitte hadn't made any official decision before Tuesday, the fact that the 40-year-old recently began working out to see how his body felt was an indication that he had received the blessing of his wife and children to pitch next season. Wings prospect arrested wearing Teletubby costume

Detroit Red Wings prospect Riley Sheahan made a series of very bad choices late last month. [Sheahan] had a blood-alcohol content of .30 -- nearly four times the legal limit and nearly double the threshold for the "super-drunk" charge he faces following his arrest in late October by Grand Rapids Police. Sheahan, 20, who plays for the Grand Rapids Griffins, was wearing the costume of a purple Teletubby, also known as Tinky Winky, when he was pulled over by police on Oct. 29. He also was charged with providing false information. He was carrying the Michigan driver's license of Brendan Smith when he was pulled over by police on Ottawa Avenue NW in downtown Grand Rapids. Miles has a 'serious offer' from Arkansas

Now many wonder: Would he leave? LSU Coach Les Miles has an offer from Arkansas for the head football coaching job, a source close to LSU confirmed to the Times-Picayune/NOLA.com Tuesday. The offer is reportedly for five years and $27.5 million. "They made a serious offer," the source said "(Athletic Director) Joe (Alleva) is meeting with his (Miles') agent and the discussion is ongoing." Miles, 59, is set to meet with the media at a previously scheduled 2 p.m. press conference Wednesday to discuss the Arkansas game and the Tigers' bowl possibilities. LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette declined to comment and said Miles, was out of town recruiting. His LSU team defeated Arkansas 20-13 in the regular season finale Friday.
