Raiders in talks with Gruden?

It's been over ten years since we've seen the likes of Jon Gruden in the iconic silver and black, but we may not have to wait much longer. Like George Lucas went back to the Star Wars well some ten years after Return of the Jedi, the Oakland Raiders are plucking on our nostalgia stings and are reportedly in talks to bring back Chucky to the Bay Area. Before we get all excited we have to remember who we are dealing with. After all the years of that scowl and the gruesome profanity, it turns out Jon Gruden is just as much of a coaching diva as the next guy. From his dangling of the University of Tennessee late last month to his constant plea that he's fully committed to his ESPN gig, we really don't know what to believe when it comes to Gruden. For Raiders fans - or fans of whatever team he is hired by - hopefully the wisdom and the decision comes hand in hand with the scowl we've all come to love. (Fansided) Comment

Will Bielema's style work in SEC?

The Razorbacks are looking to move away from the embarrassing end to the Bobby Petrino era that saw the school become the subject of scandalous tabloid headlines after the coach crashed his bike with his mistress - a woman who was not only an employee of the university but much younger than the senior coach. Hiring Bielema starts to process of moving Arkansas away from that, and hopefully towards winning ways once again. The road isn't easy, but Arkansas already surprised everyone by stealing a really good coach away from a University he was seemingly happy at so the next order of business is to do something with it. That's the question on the minds of Razorback fans everywhere, as while Bielema left Wisconsin after his drop-the-mic 70 point performance on conference foe Nebraska, that kind of muscle flexing rarely works in the defensive-minded SEC. Miller's message: 'Stop the madness'

Ryan Miller hopes he gets a chance to talk to six NHL owners Tuesday. It might give him a better idea of how the lockout will finally end. "I can't make sense of what the owners truly need because they want everything," the Buffalo Sabres' goaltender wrote Monday during an exchange of text messages. "That is why it seems like the finish line is moving." Miller is among a large group of players who will gather Tuesday in New York City when negotiations between the league and the NHL Players' Association resume. "I am really disappointed that no moderate owners have stopped the madness. Hopefully they will after the board of governors convene." (Buffalo News) Comment
