Television networks come up with every single lame gimmick they can think of (Hey, it's
Faith Hill singing our intro song! Hey, here's a useless K-Zone graphic to show you if a pitch was a strike! Hey, here's a former referee to help us with instant replay even though he gets half the calls wrong!) to get more viewers to watch their games. But if they were smart, they'd forget all that nonsense, and do one very simple thing: Leave the mics on and the camera rolling during commercials. During last night's Heat-Hawks game,
this happened during one of the breaks, and we were treated to
Charles Barkley talking about what a scam it is that Weight Watchers is paying him (hear Barkley talk about Weight Watchers and more on
the Hot Clicks Podcast),
Kevin Harlan ripping the game he was calling, and
Reggie Miller telling us
Dwight Howard doesn't want to play for the Hawks.
