The Clippers Are The Worst (As Usual)
Despite their turnaround on the court, the Clippers remain one of the most pathetic franchises in all of sports. The team recently told
Clipper Darrell, a superfan for 15 years, that it wants him to stop using "Clipper" in his nickname and stop giving interviews about the team. (
He tweeted yesterday afternoon, "It is with great sadness 2 say this that I have been told by @LAClippers front office that they no longer want me 2 b Clipper Darrell") Think about this. Here's a guy who has supported a laughingstock for FIFTEEN YEARS, and now that the team is a contender, some killjoy in its front office decides to go after him. The story gets even sadder when you read Darrell's own words,
in this blog post he titled, "I AM DEVASTATED." In another twist to this story, several Clippers players took to Twitter yesterday to show support for Darrell.
Chris Paul tweeted, "WE GOT YOU!!!"
Blake Griffin and
DeAndre Jordan also tweeted about Darrell, but later deleted the messages. One can only assume management must have gotten to them, which just adds to how pathetic the Clippers are.
