During last night's Clippers-Hornets game, New Orleans center Jason Smith
tried to stop Blake Griffin
on a fast break and channeled his inner Troy Polamalu
. The best part of this is listening to the different reactions from each team's broadcast. The Clippers' broadcasters were livid
, saying things like, "How about going over and saying 'Blake, how ya doin, bud. I'm sorry," and "It's like a linebacker taking out a tight end who doesn't see him coming," and "There's just not place in the NBA for a play like that." The New Orleans announcers were a little tamer.
They said: "The fact that he didn't let him get in the air to foul him, so it means Blake wasn't gonna get injured so badly, and "I don't think he made a play on the ball," which was basically the equivalent of saying "I don't think the Kim Kardashian
and Kris Humphries
marriage lasted that long."
