Comebacks and walkoffs were the order of business in the American League playoffs last night, so, naturally, we need to hear the local calls. First,
Raul Ibanez hit a pinch-hit home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the game at 2 against Baltimore. (Ibanez was pinch-hitting for the highest paid player in baseball,
Alex Rodriguez, who is 1-for-12 with seven strikeouts in the series.) The Yankees later won the game in the 12th on a solo shot by Ibanez. You can listen to the call by Yankees radio voice
John Sterling right here. Later in the evening in Oakland, the A's, down 3-1 in the bottom of the ninth inning against Detroit, scored three runs to force a Game 5.
Here's how A's radio play by play announcer Ken Korach called
Coco Crisp's RBI single that won the game. (Listen carefully for the visceral screams by analyst
Ray Fosse.) One final note: How great is this photo of the A's celebration with reliever
Ryan Cook laid out on the ground?
