Given the occasion, I'm going to use this day to do a special Hot Clicks in which I give thanks for 10 things that have helped Hot Clicks chug along. The first thing I'm thankful for are the athletes and celebrities who were nice enough to participate in this special feature we ran on Wednesday
in which they opined on sports and pop culture things they are most and least thankful for.
We've said it a million times and we'll say it again: We love celebrations. One of the worst things the NFL and the NCAA have done is crack down on them. Fortunately, we've still gotten some gems this season, such as this
After a year off because of the lockout, the show returned this summer to cover the Dolphins. The highlight was seeing
coach Joe Philbin
cut wide receiver Chad Johnson
The first video from NMA.tv to make Hot Clicks was its brilliant recap of
the Tiger Woods
scandal. Since then, their videos have become a staple in Hot Clicks, as they've covered everything from NBC's poor coverage of the Olympics
to the mania that surrounded Jeremy Lin
to the escapades of Bobby Petrino

Where would Hot Clicks be without them? Especially, the wives and girlfriends who are staples of the column, such as model Elaine Alden
, who is dating Raptors guard Landry Fields
Let me count the ways in which Twitter has been good for Hot Clicks. 1) We get links for Hot Clicks from Twitter. 2) Athletes tweet controversial things, thus giving Hot Clicks material. 3) Athletes follow us on Twitter, so we can ask them to contribute to Hot Clicks content, such as yesterday's piece on what athletes are most and least thankful for
. 4) I get into interact with fans (and non-fans).
Hot Clicks has featured many of this group's
food orgy videos. It shouldn't surprise you that they just pulled off a Thanksgiving masterpiece.
(a guest on the Hot Clicks Podcast
) and Marv Albert
are basically untouchable. Hardly a negative word about either has ever been uttered. Some fans have their issues with Brent Musburger
and Verne Lundquist
, but I love them. They always add to the overall enjoyment of a Saturday. Anytime I hear one of these four announcers, there is an unexplainable comfort level that I am grateful for.
This doesn't have much to do with the actual content in Hot Clicks, but listening to Stern each morning while I'm putting together the A.M. edition and Francesa each afternoon while I'm the P.M. edition provides me with a tremendous amount of entertainment. Actually, Francesa has provided some material for Hot Clicks, such as falling asleep on the air
, and having a near stroke
about the Mets' poor play. As for Stern, if anyone thinks he's still not the King of All Media, just listen to the 30 minutes he did
on the Monday after Hurricane Sandy in which he describes the hell of having his parents stay with him. Genius mixed with reality mixed with humor.
We celebrated the five-year anniversary of Hot Clicks
last April, and somehow, we're still going strong. Personally, I think you should be sick of my by now, but I'm extremely thankful you're not.
