ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- Michigan has lost starting cornerback Blake Countess because of a season-ending knee injury.
The team announced Monday that Countess tore an anterior cruciate ligament against Alabama. He was hurt early in Saturday night when the eighth-ranked Wolverines lost 41-14 to the second-ranked Crimson Tide.
Countess played in 12 games and started six last season as a freshman.
The Wolverines host Air Force on Saturday in their home opener.
