AP Pro32 comments about Dolphins
NEW YORK (AP) - Comments on the Miami Dolphins by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
MIAMI DOLPHINS (25)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 28) - Ryan Tannehill ... Wow! Two overtime losses a good sign, though.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 24) - The solid play of Ryan Tannehill continues to be encouraging.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 21) - Comment currently unavailable
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 25) - Trending up with the play of their defense and young QB Ryan Tannehill.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 26) - Brian Hartline channels his inner Jerry Rice and hauls in a franchise record 253 yards receiving. Still not good enough as Miami loses a heartbreaker in OT to the Cardinals. Encouraging signs for rookie Ryan Tannehill, though.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 30) - The Dolphins were criticized for reaching for QB Ryan Tannehill with the eighth overall pick of the 2012 draft. There is silence now after his 431-yard passing performance against the Cardinals.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 25) - So Ryan Tannehill committed costly mistakes down the stretch Sunday. There were glimpses of a future star last weekend in Arizona.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 22) - You can't play much better run defense through the first month.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 22) - Tannehill throws for a Dolphin rookie record of 431 yards and has a lot of potential. The Miami run defense is solid and will keep them in enough games that this team moves up again next week.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 24) - Ryan Tannehill may have come of age in a tough loss against the undefeated Arizona Cardinals. This team is improving.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 24) - Consecutive overtime losses to the New York Jets and Arizona show the Dolphins could be on the road to respectability.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 26) - If Cameron Wake could play on both sides of the ball, the Dolphins could be a contender.
