AP Pro32 comments about Chargers
NEW YORK (AP) - Comments on the San Diego Chargers by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (16)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 18) - What was THAT?
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 11) - That was some collapse Monday night. Talented, but can't be trusted.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 17)
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 19) - Second half collapse was brutal as was the performance of Philip Rivers.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 18) - Peyton Magic, or a Philip Rivers second-half meltdown? A little bit of both for a San Diego team that botched a 24-0 halftime lead to the Broncos. This one could have lasting effects, especially if the Chargers miss out on the playoffs again.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 13) - The Chargers wore their powder-blue throwback uniforms Monday night. Too bad they don't wear them every game - those AFL Chargers had the best uniforms in football.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 21) - That was a crushing loss to Denver, so dreadful it might just capsize the Chargers' season.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 18) - Did you see Norv Turner's postgame news conference? Dead man walking.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 11) - Rivers is up 24-0 this week and throws four picks. That should not happen again this season. This team can beat most teams in the NFL but they also know how to beat themselves.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 17) - The Chargers have to find a way to close out games like that. They could be 5-1 right now if they could close.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 18) - A record-setting second-half collapses against San Diego tightening the coaching noose around Norv Turner's neck.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 14) - They should be cut some slack in the power poll because they wore their powder blues.
