AP Pro32 comments about Ravens
NEW YORK (AP) - Comments on the Baltimore Ravens by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
BALTIMORE RAVENS (6)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 2) - Could it be a Har-bowl?
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 6) - On track for another division crown after gritty win against Steelers.
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 8) - Very inconsistent despite the record.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 5) - Another ugly win for another highly regarded team. But when you beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh, who cares how it looks? Ravens now in firm control in AFC North.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 4) - The Ravens will be without perennial Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed this week against San Diego. The NFL sat Reed down for a game for repeated illegal hits on defenseless players.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 4) - So now the Ravens lose Ed Reed for a week. So what? These guys are last year's Texans, overcoming every obstacle thrown in their path.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 4) - They're built in John Harbaugh's image - tough, focused and relentless.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 6) - The Ravens proved they can overcome lots of injuries and win against good teams. I wonder what was going to happen last week if Roethlisberger was healthy?
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 7) - The Ravens have been impressive without the likes of Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb and were again in defeating the Steelers. Now add S Ed Reed, who was suspended by the NFL for one game.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 6) - The Ravens' offense didn't play well enough to win in Pittsburgh. No matter. The defense and special-teams carried the day.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 2) - Nobody suspected Jacoby Jones would be the reason they'd be winning, but they are winning nonetheless.
