Button Girl wins Belmont feature

NEW YORK (AP) - Button Girl pulled a 13-1 upset in the $77,000 Belmont Park feature Friday, beating 6-5 favorite Sylvestris by 1 1/2 lengths in the turf race for fillies and mares.

Cornelio Velasquez sent Button Girl right to the front and the 4-year-old led the way for her third win in 12 starts. The time was 1:23.24.

Trained by Ralph Nicks, Button Girl paid $29.60, $9 and $5.10. Sylvestris returned $3.40 and $2.50, and Tapit Dancer paid $3.40 to show.
