Clubhouse Ride wins Santa Anita feature

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - Clubhouse Ride won the $53,000 Hesperia Purse by a head at Santa Anita on Thursday, snapping an 0-for-9 skid this year.

Ridden by Aaron Gryder, Clubhouse Ride ran 6 1/2 furlongs on the hillside turf course in 1:11.53 and paid $15.40, $7.80 and $4.40.

Truest Legend returned $12.80 and $8.20, while 6-5 favorite Sweet Swap was another half-length back in third and paid $2.60 to show.

The victory, worth $31,800, increased Clubhouse Ride's career earnings to $393,260, with three wins in 21 starts.
