ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - Calidoscopio became the oldest Breeders' Cup winner when the 9-year-old from Argentina pulled an upset Friday to win the $500,000 Marathon.

The 17-1 shot was greeted by a boisterous winner's circle contingent that was chanting and waving the Argentine flag.

Aaron Gryder was aboard for his first Breeders' Cup win. Calidoscopio won the longest of the 15 Breeders' Cup races by 4 1/4 lengths over Grassy. The time was 2:57.25.

Calidoscopio, trained by Guillermo Frankel, paid $36.40, $16 and $9.60. Grassy returned $12.40 and $7.60 while Atigun paid $3.40 to show.
