Britain's rhythmic team launches Olympic appeal |

LONDON (AP) -- Britain's rhythmic gymnastics group has launched an appeal after missing out on a place at the London Olympics.
The group failed to secure the 45.223 score it needed during the first two days of the test event at the O2 Arena last month, which also served as a second Olympic qualifier.
The team says it was under the impression that all three days of the competition counted toward Olympic qualifying. Britain exceeded the required score on the third day.
The appeal will be considered by an independent dispute resolution organization on Feb. 29.
Coach Sarah Moon says the team "firmly believe that they achieved the qualification score as set down in the selection policy.''
