WNBA: Hot-shooting Lynx top Shock

TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Candice Wiggins scored 25 points, Maya Moore had 24 and the Minnesota Lynx beat the Tulsa Shock 107-86 on Tuesday.

Seimone Augustus added 17 points, Lindsay Whalen had 14 and Taj McWilliams-Franklin 12 for the Lynx (13-4), who finished with a season-high scoring total.

The Lynx shot a WNBA-record 69.5 percent from the field (41 of 59), topping the previous mark of 65.4 percent by Los Angeles on June 15, 2005.

Ivory Latta scored 25 points on 10-for-14 shooting, including 5 for 8 on 3s, to lead the Shock (3-13). Kayla Pedersen added 12 points and Glory Johnson had 11.

Los Angeles 90, Phoenix 71

PHOENIX -- Candace Parker had 22 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Los Angeles Sparks to a 90-71 victory over the Phoenix Mercury for their fourth straight win.

Kristi Tolliver added 19 points and six assists and Nneka Ogwumike had 11 points and 14 rebounds for Los Angeles (14-6). Parker also had four assists and three blocks. The Sparks trail defending champion Minnesota by one game in the Western Conference.

DeWanna Bonner and rookie Sammy Prahalis both had 14 points and seven rebounds to lead the Mercury (4-14). Alexis Gray-Lawson added 13 points and Krystal Thomas scored 11.

Both teams were playing their third games in four days but Los Angeles won all three while the Mercury lost all three. Phoenix, playing again without injured stars Diana Taurasi and Candice Dupree, has lost five straight and seven of nine.'

Phoenix has been without Taurasi (strained hip flexor) since May 31st, and has lost 12 of 15 in her absence. Dupree, the team's second-leading scorer through the first nine games, missed her second straight contest and has played just nine minutes since June 17.

Indiana 84, New York 82

INDIANAPOLIS -- Tamika Catchings scored 23 points, including the winning free throws with 8.4 seconds left, to give the Indiana Fever an 84-82 victory over the New York Liberty.

Katie Douglas scored 20 points and Shavonte Zellous added 12 as the Fever (10-6) squandered a 12-point lead and trailed by four in the final minutes before rallying.

Cappie Pondexter scored a season-high 33 points and Essence Carson added 14 for the Liberty (6-11), who have lost two straight and six of nine.

The Liberty were playing their seventh straight game without second-leading scorer and rebounder Plenette Pierson (strained left knee) and the third in a row without leading rebounder Kia Vaughn (concussion).

Connecticut 77, Washington 70

WASHINGTON -- After struggling on the road last season, the Connecticut Sun are thriving away from home this year.

Kara Lawson scored 17 points and Tina Charles had 16 as Eastern Conference-leading Connecticut beat the last-place Washington Mystics 77-70 for their third straight win.

Tan White added 11 points to help the Sun (13-4) improved to a league-best 7-1 on the road after going 6-11 a year ago. Connecticut has won all three meetings with Washington this season including two on the road and the last seven overall.

Crystal Langhorne scored 15 points and Michelle Snow had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Mystics (3-13). Matee Ajavon added 13 points, Monique Currie had 12 and Noelle Quinn 10 for the Mystics.

Washington finished with a 38-23 rebounding edge, including 15-3 on offensive boards, but has lost three straight and seven of its last eight.
