DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) -- World record holder Sun Yang won a third gold at the Asian Swimming Championships Saturday, capping another day of Chinese dominance in the pool.

The four-time Olympic medalist won the 1,500-meter freestyle in a championship record time of 14:44.10, far short of his world record time but enough to easily win the race. He was among eight Chinese to take gold in nine races, including Olympic silver medalist Lu Ying who won the women's 100 butterfly for her second gold.

Japan's Kazuki Kohinata won the 200 breaststroke in a championship record time of 2:12.13 for his second gold, becoming only the fourth non-Chinese swimmer to win.

The Chinese set four championship records, including one by 13-year-old Xu Danlu, who won the 400 free in a time of 4:05.75.
