AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Danica Patrick shrugged off the suspension of a San Diego TV sports anchor for implying a sexist slur, saying she thought it was funny someone felt that strongly about her.

Fox 5 San Diego suspended Ross Shimabuku without pay for a week for his comments about Patrick before her Sprint Cup debut in the Daytona 500. The anchor stopped short of calling Patrick a derogatory name on the air, saying she was a word that starts with `B' and it wasn't beautiful.

Patrick said Friday that she just heard about the comment and the suspension. She joked that someone on TV probably shouldn't be saying or implying swear words on the air.
